PS 80 Heat Shrink Wraparound Sleeves
Corrosion protective heat-shrinkable sleeve
( unique adhesive technology)
Product Profile
PS 80 is superior performance heat shrinkable products designed for corrosion protection on field applied girth-weld joints of buried and exposed steel pipelines operating up to 80°C
The outer backing layer is Cross-linked backing.
The adhesive has been designed with a unique adhesive technology that remains “open” longer than traditional adhesives. Also, special surface active agents allow bonding to lower surface energy coatings (such as polypropylene). As a result, lower preheats are required and superior bonding to PE, PP, PU, FBE, CTE and Bitumen surfaces is achieved.
PS 80 system has the following key advantages over alternative corrosion protection systems:
a) High shrink backing is necessary for large diameter pipelines.
b) “Open time" adhesive technology provides lower preheat temperatures and superior bonding to factory pipe coating
Features & Benefits
●Just-in-time customized lengths allow bulk rolls to be field cut top protect any pipe size, more Flexibility on the Job Site.
●Open sleeve configuration allows the product to be applied after the pipeline has been welded and cleaned. PS 80 is a wraparound sleeve with a separate closure.
●The Unique Adhesive Technology adhesive has been formulated to bond directly to both the steel/ductile iron pipe and the main line coating. The result is a superior bond to the substrate, easier application and significant cost savings.
●Unique Adhesive Technology also make lower pre-heat to save less time heating and installing the sleeve.
● Cross-linked backing provides superior abrasion, mechanical and chemical attack resistance.
● High performance adhesive provides excellent resistance to Cathodic Disbondment to ensure long-term corrosion protection
